"We had a wonderful holiday at Bowls Cottage where we stayed with our two grown up grandchildren.  Our eldest grandchild is about to go away to Colorado to study and live, so we took the opportunity for the four of us to spend quality time together and we couldn't have picked a better place.  We have previously stayed in Millers Cottage as a couple which was equally as pleasant and one to which we will no doubt return.

The cottage had everything we needed and more and the beds were very comfortable - always important.  The area is beautiful and Alnmouth is a place that we never tire of visiting although we may try something new in the future with Crabtree and Crabtree as I am sure the quality of the premises will be guaranteed.

We bought the Northumbria Cycle map and there is so much easy off road cycling from the cottage, both for gentle touring as well as real cycle tours. A fabulous cycle is from the cottage on national cycle route 1, south to Warkworth and onto Amble, then back either the same way or inland – stunning views, easy cycle paths, gorgeous villages – easily signposted and not too strenuous, plenty of places to stop for coffee"
