Scotland’s answer to Hygge is set to be one of the biggest trends of 2018
This year is all about Còsagach - the Scottish lifestyle trend which is ready and raring to rival Hygge.
If you’ve been fully embracing the in-vogue Scandinavian concepts of Hygge, Lagom and Lykke, you might be ready for bonnie Scotland’s very own version – Còsagach.
It’s the old Gaelic word (which is pronounced “kaw-sa-goch”) for the feeling of being snug, sheltered or cosy and Scotland’s tourist board, VisitScotland, have tipped it to become one of the biggest trends of 2018.
“With tranquil seascapes, vast open spaces and many warm and welcoming pubs, Scotland is a perfect place for your well-being.”
Bearing in mind that last year saw Rough Guides readers name Scotland the most beautiful country in the world, we suggest spending these long midwinters evenings planning your next Scottish escape and embracing a Còsagach stay to enjoy the splendours of the Scottish Borders.
Read on for a selection of Crabtree & Crabtree cottages which we’re sure will make the perfect Còsagach escape this year. It’s time to pack your bags and head for the countryside!
